"A steady proponent of the transition to value-based care to bolster medical groups’ efforts to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care, MGMA is pleased to support the Value in Health Care Act of 2023. If enacted, this legislation would provide critical support to practices eager to transition from fee-for-service to value-base care by extending the 5% advanced alternative payment model (APM) incentive payment. In light of another round of proposed cuts to Medicare physician reimbursement, ensuring group practices have the necessary support to succeed in value-based care arrangements is paramount. MGMA looks forward to working with Congress to ensure the passage of this crucial piece of legislation.”
